CHECK ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS (basic functions for OBD II compliant vehicles) When used with generic OBD II Apps such as Car Scanner ELM OBD2 (see image 2 for more compatible apps), you can read & erase engine diagnostic trouble codes, view freeze frame data, I/M readiness and real-time sensor readings (generic OBD PIDs such as O2 Readings, Engine coolant/ oil temperature, Mass air flow rate, Fuel rail pressure, Fuel Trim), which can help you fix simple engine-related problems. DO MORE (advanced functions for selected vehicles, see product image 3 for details) When used with more professional Apps (usually requires sperate purchase), you can get advanced features like enhanced diagnostics and manufacturer-specific PIDs (such as transmission temperature, oil pressure) on selected vehicles, examine the battery in hybrid & electric vehicles, customize selected vehicles, etc. DEVICE COMPATIBILITY - Compatible with iOS via Bluetooth LE (do NOT connect with the device in iOS Bluetooth Settings; please connect directly in the OBD2 Apps) & Android devices via Classic Bluetooth (head units may not be compatible; for some Android phones in recent years, it may not show as connected after pairing but you can still start the App to connect). For detailed iOS and Android connection & troubleshooting guide, please refer to the fifth product image or user instructions. VEHICLE COMPATIBILITY Compatible with model year 1996 or newer cars and light trucks in the US and other OBD II/ EOBD compliant vehicles in other regions for generic check engine light diagnostic functions. For hybrid plug-in and electric vehicles, please check Car Scanner ELM OBD2 App and see if there is a suitable EV connection profiles, or other Apps designed specifically for EVs.
